Connection. That’s the end all, right. The key to life. The point of love. For all of our shoots, our sole aim is to promote connection. We will remind you why you are with your partner. Why you chose them. Why you choose them day after day. We will literally, physically continue to you into one another. To ask you to take each other’s hands. To give each other real squeezes. The point of the shoot is not the camera or the photos – those are beautiful byproducts of  us getting a glimpse into your bond to one another. So loosen up. Let go of your hesitation to be in front of the lens and just have fun!

Amy and Dan were wedding guests at a one of our first OLIL weddings way back when at a local art gallery here in Denver. Amy was this spunky ball of beautiful energy by the bride and Dan was her dapper piece of arm candy for the night. All kidding aside, he was way more than that. Anyone who saw them together, could feel that special connection. He was also voted “best dressed 20 something male” by Perry and I for the night! Yes we play insider games with one another at our receptions. 😉

Flash forward a few years and we receive an email from the newly engaged couple saying they’d followed our work since that wedding (which is the best compliment by the way!) and that we had to be at their wedding. Needless to say, its connections like this that make our jobs so insanely wonderful. We were so happy to head over to their neck of the woods in Brooklyn to shoot their engagements in their backyard, the colorful and classy, Gowanus. Can’t wait for their upcoming wedding this Spring at Blanc Denver.

 

On wedding days, we always plan a portion of the day for our couples to escape from the hustle and bustle of the day just to connect with one another. A time to press pause. To hold on to one another. To kiss. To talk. During this time we just happen to be snapping away and that’s one way we are able to capture some really raw, authentic images. That’s what it’s all about for us. Capturing that connection.

At engagement sessions, we get to do that for a whole session and it’s honestly so much fun. These two came ready to have fun. Shelby COULD NOT keep his hands off Alexa, and the sight of two of them together was so incredibly cute. We got to step inside Finn’s Manor during off hours and had the whole place to ourself. You guys, the setting over there is so fun. Left this session feeling like I’d been in Mexico for the last hour. The color and vibrancy of the place and the streets around Rino could not have matched the energy of these two more perfectly.
