LAURA + JON-MARC | Aspen Canyon Ranch Colorado Mountain Wedding
Categories: Elopements, Weddings

After meeting with Laura and Jon Marc we quickly realized that these were our kind of people. We instantly connected over a conversation about our shared frustrations with the limiting expectations and confining structure found around the idea of marriage, and even more specifically the commonly held beliefs surrounding weddings. You know, basically the messages that we’ve been fed since childhood in regards to what our weddings should look like, what our marriages should look like, what should be valued, what isn’t appropriate. We are all about encouraging couples to create a day/ event that honors and pays tribute to the commitment they are making to one another without feeling the need or obligation to adhere to the traditions of the past that may not be in line with their beliefs as a couple. So out with the old- in with the new! Let’s be intentional. Let’s celebrate and be preset with one another. If a first look feels cheesy, we won’t do it! If the traditional way of doing vows rings untrue – reword it! This is your day. Don’t let anyone else tell you how to make it special. We are there to support you 100% along the way. For specific ideas on how to make your wedding more intentional and less traditional, just ask us at your consult. We’ve witnessed so many wonderful nuptials. We’ll pass on all the tips we’ve gleaned from amazing couples just like Jon-Marc and Laura.

MEG + PETE | Intimate Mountain Elopement at The Amigo Motor Lodge
Categories: Elopements

Meg and Pete chose to elope in the mountains of Salida, Colorado the old school way – just the two of them. The decided to make the picturesque Amigo Motor Lodge their home base for the weekend. Heading up from Denver, we saw the forecast for snow and made plans accordingly. The morning of the elopement arrived and even more snow arrived than expected. We quickly changed the location a bit, instead of shooting in Twin Lakes, we set off to the Midland Tunnels in Buena Vista. With the storm on our heels, Meg and Pete shared their vows and pledges to one another in front of a beautiful rock face. Snow fluttering all about. The whole morning had a magic about it. As if we were caught in a snow globe. After the ceremony, we headed back to the lodge for champagne, cake and some much needed time around the fire. The day was perfect. So happy to have the most adventurous couples.
