There really isn’t anything quite like being given the opportunity to go on an adventure with a couple and document their taking of vows and making of pledges to one another. Photographing elopements is just so incredibly special and we are so thankful for the opportunity to have worked with all the rad couples that we have. Many times people will bring us along as well as a small handful of their closest friends and family. For this adventure however, it was just the 4 of us. Emily grew up on Orcas Island, just a short ferry ride away from Lummi Island, where she and Brian chose to say “I do”. They had heard incredible things about The Willows Inn and the decadent prix fixe menu that was served during peak season by award-winning head chef Blaine Wetzel. This had to be the place where they would celebrate their new journey together. They decided to celebrate their nuptials by beginning with a celebratory dinner the night before, a quick early morning ceremony on the beach, and ending with the famous brunch back at the inn. Joining Emily and Brian for the meal was and still is a highlight of our time as photographers. The food, the experience at The Willows is literally out of this world. Like mind blown! This was also our first time to travel that far North up the Washington coast. The landscapes took our breath away. Needless to say, this whole trip was one we will never forget. We are so thankful for couples like Emily and Brian who entrust us with the great honor of recording one of life’s most pivotal mile markers and welcome us into their lives as family.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Connection. That’s the end all, right. The key to life. The point of love. For all of our shoots, our sole aim is to promote connection. We will remind you why you are with your partner. Why you chose them. Why you choose them day after day. We will literally, physically continue to you into one another. To ask you to take each other’s hands. To give each other real squeezes. The point of the shoot is not the camera or the photos – those are beautiful byproducts of  us getting a glimpse into your bond to one another. So loosen up. Let go of your hesitation to be in front of the lens and just have fun!

These two wonderful, vivacious souls, Travis and Shiera were guests at a wedding we shot several years back. So needless to say, we were thrilled when they asked us to be a part of their nuptials. Cherokee Ranch and Castle proved the perfect backdrop for their fall inspired celebration. Their crew proved to be just as fun as they are. We started shooting mid morning, feeling like royalty roaming the decadent halls of the castle and ended the evening chasing the light of the sunset on the rooftop.
